Schedule WhatsApp Messages, WhatsApp is among the most frequently used messaging apps in the world and whereas it comes with a host of really good features, there’s one that's missing. WhatsApp doesn't allow you to schedule a message yet.
Imagine it's somebody’s birthday and you've got the date in mind, for now, but there are chances that you simply may forget about it closer to the day, or at 12 midnight once you intend to want the person. Or if you want to send somebody a message during work hours and not at some random hour at night time. The potential to schedule a message in situations like these can help immensely.
Now, the app itself doesn't have message scheduling as a feature yet so the one way to make it work is to make use of a third-party app. A workaround is good for each Android and Apple devices, however, the same workaround doesn't work on each platform. However, as is the case with all workarounds, there are limitations, we’ll get to that soon.
Schedule WhatsApp Messages For Android phones
There are a bunch of third-party apps that may schedule a message for you - like SKEDit. To use this, follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Play Store, SKEDit app download and install
- Open the app and sign up.
- Once you have signed in, tap on WhatsApp on the main menu.
- On the next screen, you'll need to grant SKEDit some permissions.
- Click Enable Accessibility, go to SKEDit, toggle on Use service, click on Allow. You can now return to the app.
- Next, you will have to fill in details of the recipient, enter your message text, set the schedule date and time. if you wish to repeat the scheduled message or not You can choose.
- The app will give you another option - Ask me before sending. Turn this on, tap on the tick, and scheduled your message.
- Now, when the scheduled date and time arrives, you'll get a notification prompting you to complete the action.
- Tap on send and you are done.
If the ‘Ask me before sending’ option is toggled off, once you tap the tick icon, you may be asked to disable your phone's display lock and you may be requested to disable your phone's battery optimization as well.
This will send your message on the scheduled date and time without asking you for permission. While that is convenient in sure cases, do not forget that your phone screen is unlocked - it is a security risk.
